Head of Building Safety Permanent

National housing provider are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Building Safety. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and leaseholder protection, as well as managing and improving teamwork and cooperation within the business. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of risk management, property management, and property-related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act and leaseholder protection requirements
• Manage and improve teamwork and cooperation between various parts of the business
• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
• Provide leadership and direction to the building safety team
• Oversee the registration of high-risk buildings
• Implement and monitor risk management strategies
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices related to building safety

Qualifications

• CIOB Diploma in Building Safety Management or equivalent
• Diploma in construction, building surveying, asset and building management compliance, or equivalent at degree level
• Recognized industry memberships (e.g., IFE, RICS, IFSM, CIOB)
• In-depth knowledge of the requirements of the Building Safety Act
• Extensive experience in managing and improving teamwork and cooperation
• Excellent communication and persuasion skills
• Clear understanding of risk management and property-related legislation

Day-to-day

• Collaborate with various teams to ensure building safety compliance
• Lead and support the building safety team in their daily activities
• Engage with stakeholders to address questions or concerns related to building safety
• Monitor and manage risk across high-risk buildings
• Stay informed about any changes or updates to building safety regulations
